Soldier Registration
Congratulations on your choice to join us, recruit. You’re fulfilling your duty to humanity and free sentients everywhere—and you’re doing the right thing! Your first order of business is to register with the Tabula Rasa tracking system and configure your armour’s integrated computer system. This system was established during the formation of the AFS. We require all recruits to log into the Tabula Rasa system and create a profile there. This process allows the system to confirm your vital information. Type in your first and last names before you proceed.
Surnames
Be especially careful when declaring your family name. It identifies you to other recruits and is persistent for any clones that may or may not be created from your genetic line. This is your chance to choose a name that you want; if your old Earth name is no longer suitable, then declare a new name for your new life in the AFS.
Next, input your gender. The AFS does not tolerate stigma or prejudice according to species, race, or gender. This is official policy, and any officers, NCOs, or recruits in violation of it are subject to disciplinary action. Please input your vital statistics into your armour system’s integrated computer. Adjust the slider beside the body type to record your height. Next, log the closest approximation of your head type and skin tone. The arrows under the Head selection cycle through the models available to your avatar.
Finally, use the Hair Type selectors in a similar fashion, until you are pleased with the system’s interpretation of your appearance.
Lastly, each recruit receives a basic uniform during this registration phase. Browse through the available gear, either for complete outfits via the All Armor button or for individual pieces. You can use the color wheel to adjust your uniform’s appearance. Note that each recruit receives a single uniform, but it is field-ready and unsurpassed in utility and comfort.
Cloning
- Any receptive AFS troop can be cloned when promoted to a new tier. Other cloning opportunities may arise for troops with sufficient credits or when completing certain missions.
- Unallocated training time persists for the original troop and the clone.
- New clones receive an allotment of ammunition and medical supplies, but the AFS does not have sufficient resources to provide advanced armour, money, or weaponry. Troops are responsible for outfitting their clones.
- Footlockers are provided in bases for AFS recruits to leave credits and equipment for their clones. Footlockers are coded to genetic lineage, so all materials will be available between clones and their progenitors.
The new paradigm in biological manipulation and enhancement make it possible to go beyond creating clones with their progenitor’s mere potential. Indeed, new techniques recreate existing people without sacrificing their knowledge, memories, and experiences. This process can even be altered such that a male veteran with 20 years of combat experience can be “cloned” into the body of a young recruit of alternate appearance or gender.
Though we use the term clone, our results are vastly superior to anything that standard cloning could produce. The actual technique is known as Quantum Level Scanning and Reconstruction of Neural Fractal Topography.
